New Project Launch: Singapore’s Forest-to-City Monitoring Network

June 4, 2026

The Wetland Carbon Lab is proud to launch a new collaborative research project with NUS and NParks.

Over the next three years, our team will develop a network of monitoring stations to measure nutrient, carbon, water, and energy fluxes across Singapore and along a gradient from forest to city.

The field data gathered will inform the development of an island-wide model to guide urban greenery design and support Singapore’s vision as a thriving City in Nature.

NUS collaborators:

  • Assist. Prof. Luo Xiangzhong (Remi) (Department of Geography, NUS)
  • Prof. Simone Fatichi (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NUS)
