Our PhD student Zhentao arrived in Montreal earlier this week to begin a semester-long research internship at the Atmosbios Lab, led by Prof. Oliver Sonnentag at Université de Montréal. His exchange is supported by the Queen Elizabeth Scholars Program.
During his stay, Zhentao will focus on developing a state-of-the-art eddy covariance post-processing workflow, covering among other things high-quality data filtering, gap-filling, and flux partitioning. Beyond this technical work, we hope Zhentao will connect with Montreal’s vibrant community of environmental scientists, share his perspective on wetlands ecology from lower latitudes, and gain some field experience. The wonderful wetlands of Canada are a world away from the tropical systems he studies for his PhD!
